I just got info that the TLD for .com and .net currently managed by Verisign will increase beginning January 15, 2012. The increase is ranging from 7% – 10% from the current price. It has been reported as early as July this year. Please read the below news quoted from generation-nt.com

The company responsible for managing the .com and .net domain names, Verisign, has just announced that they will increase the registration prices in 2012 due to having to reinforce security.

Specialising in global communication infrastructure and manager of .com and .net domain names, Verisign has just announced that they will be increasing the prices of domain name registrations.

From the 15th of January 2012, prices will increase 7% when registering a .com domain name – an increase from $7.34 to $7.85, while .net extensions will increase 10% (from $4.65 to $5.11).

This increase has come about after an agreement was signed with ICANN, the organisation responsible for managing domain names on the internet. Of course, the price increases will be passed down to the clients of registration offices.

To justify this increase, Verisign indicates that they have been forced to increase their security due to multiple distributed denial of services attacks (DDoS). The company states that they recorded more than 57 billion domain lookup requests on their servers each day in the first quarter of 2011. At this time, there are 96 million .com web sites and 14 million .net websites present in the world.

Bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad berkata, sekarang ini, kalau kita beli atau jual barang, kita menggunakan dolar Amerika dengan nilai yang kadang-kadang turun, kadang-kadang naik, sedangkan sebenarnya mata wang dolar tidak ada nilai.

“Nilai dolar Amerika ini tidak menentu dan secara tidak langsung akan memberi kesan kepada industri perdagangan negara,” kata beliau pada sidang akhbar selepas melancarkan Dinar Emas Larian Sahara 2012 di Kuala Lumpur, kelmarin.

Beliau berkata dinar emas akan tetap mempunyai nilai di mana saja mengikut berat emas.

Oleh itu, kata Dr Mahathir, adalah penting untuk negara menggunakan dinar emas untuk bayaran jual beli dagangan antarabangsa berbanding dolar Amerika.

Well, to me it is not a surprise. Try to ask from your close friends, colleagues, neighbour, what do they understand about the Dinar and Dirham. I strongly believed most of them don’t understand about it. They might know it is a coin.

After looking at what happened around the world and reading few books, articles I have started to hate the fiat money and the banking system. As such, I’ve started to leave the banking system slowly and divert/change the fiat money to precious metal.

Actually, we should, at least within own country to start using Dinar and Dirham to replace the fiat money that has no value in actual fact. What about you?

Have you seen the above graphic? It is a good example to show/tell people of the meaning of inflation – how your purchasing power is reduced year by year. For the above graphic, the current value of 1 Dinar of gold is around RM700 ~ RM800, so as the current price of goat.

Most people said that the price of goods are increasing but the actual term should be used is the value of money is decreasing that causing you loosing the purchasing power. Due to that, you have to pay more than before in order to get the same item.

So, I would like to suggest that should you want to make saving, make it in term of precious metal; either gold or silver

Today is a great day. It is a new year for us, base on our own calendar. Since it falls on Sunday, we will have a replacement holiday tomorrow, Monday for those practice Saturday and Sunday as their weekend.

Basically, it has been 2 years my family moved to a new house. We think this is the best place for our family so far since it is easier for us to go to work and also to send our kids to school in the future besides quite close to go to mosque for prayer. Hope we can overcome any obstacles on our live and improve our live for our kids’ future.

I’m working on something else currently, so there is no new posting from me so far. Also I’m still yet to take photo(s) of something(s) that I intend to make as my new posting.

Tetapi ada segelintir mereka yang lebih bijak dari pihak bank dengan menawarkan skim pembelian emas di pasaran dan dipajakkan di Ar-Rahnu untuk mendapatkan keuntungan.

Mereka sebagai ejen jualan emas akan mencari pelanggan yang mahu membeli emas untuk pelaburan dan ini adalah tidak salah.
Tapi yang salahnya apabila ada daripada mereka meminta pembeli membuat pinjaman bank atau koperasi untuk membeli emas dengan mereka dan dipajakkan di Ar-Rahnu dengan sistem 30:70.
Pembeli hanya keluar wang mereka 30 peratus saja, manakala 70 peratus adalah daripada pinjaman Ar-Rahnu apabila emas dipajakkan.
Sebagai contoh, pembeli diminta membuat pinjaman RM30,000 untuk membeli emas.
Sebenarnya tanpa kita sedari, kita sudah membeli emas pada nilai RM100,000, di mana RM70,000 yang dikeluarkan oleh pihak Ar-Rahnu akan diambil oleh pihak penjual emas.
Ini bermakna, jumlah emas yang dipajakkan di Ar-Rahnu bernilai RM100,000.
Penjual emas akan memomokkan anda sebagai pembeli boleh mendapat keuntungan dengan membuat tukaran surat pajakan apabila harga emas naik.
Tetapi apa yang berlaku kini harga emas sedang turun sejak sebelum puasa lagi.
Maka, pembeli tidak akan dapat keuntungan sebab harga emas tidak naik dan masih perlu membayar ansuran bulanan pinjaman pembelian emas tadi untuk tempoh 20 tahun.
Lebih memburukkan keadaan apabila pihak Ar-Rahnu hanya membenarkan emas dipajak untuk tempoh masa enam hingga lapan bulan saja dan pihak pembeli perlulah menebus semula emas mereka sebelum boleh memajakkan semula ke bank.
Di sinilah masalah akan timbul apabila pembeli terpaksa menyediakan 70 peratus bahagian yang bank keluarkan ketika pajakan dibuat untuk menebus semula emas berkenaan sedangkan wang itu sudah diambil oleh ejen emas sewaktu memajakkan emas berkenaan.
Akhirnya, apabila pembeli tidak mampu menyediakan wang berkenaan, maka pihak bank akan melelong emas kita itu tadi dan pembeli yang menanggung kerugian.
Sudahlah hutang bank selama 20 tahun perlu dibayar, emas kita pula digadai oleh pihak bank.
Apa yang saya hendak tekankan di sini ialah tidak salah untuk kita melabur dalam emas.
Tetapi bukanlah dengan cara meminjam duit dari bank dan beli emas kemudian digadaikan.
Akhirnya, diri kita sendiri yang tergadai untuk membayar hutang dalam tempoh 20 tahun.
Pelaburan emas hanya menguntungkan jika kita membeli emas 100 peratus menggunakan duit sendiri.
Saya kasihan melihat orang Melayu ditipu oleh orang Melayu sendiri.
Daripada mengimpikan kekayaan, akhirnya berakhir dengan kemiskinan akibat hutang yang ditanggung.
Untuk kaya, kita perlulah berusaha untuk menambah pendapatan.
Masalahnya orang Melayu kita lebih suka duduk goyang kaki mengharapkan imbuhan setiap bulan.
Diharap, pihak bank dan kerajaan mengambil tindakan sewajarnya bagi membendung aktiviti pelaburan emas seperti ini sebelum lebih ramai bangsa kita muflis dalam angan-angan mereka sendiri.

After a long waiting since around end of September the spot price for gold reached to highest at around USD1900 per ounce, finally it re-bounced to USD1800 per ounce on 8 Nov 2011 night, my local time. However, it went down a bit but I’m lucky as the price still consider good enough for me. As such I rushed to the bank to close my account and managed to get a considerable bank’s buying price – RM175 per gram.
